I parked this 245 a few years ago when I came across my white 740. Since then, every month or so I start her up, drive her around to bring it up to temperature. It's Unmolested, rust only on the tailgate, has no mods, pretty much a clean slate

During the last couple of years driving her, I did the following:
Timing belt/front cam seal
IPD Transmission output shaft seal kit
Replaced Engine harness with updated harness
Motor/trans mounts
O2 sensor
Battery & alternator
Refinished Virgos
Tow hitch

Bad stuff:
The windows go up & down a little slow sometimes, depends on what mood they are in
The rear wiper is a little quirky
The passenger front wiper seem to have come disconnected from the driver side
The tags are overdue, I personally would take it through DEQ before selling it, I have no doubt that it would pass emissions easily

If I were to put this car back on the road myself, I would replace the rear tailgate harness and of course fix the front wiper, that’s about it. Oh, the tires have good tread but they are kinda’ old.

I’d like to get 1,900 bucks out of her.

Nice car...one of my favorite colors. Good luck with the sell.

James, you guys should've met up a while ago. IIRC, Pat was considering converting his 245 to a M46 at one time. Could've swapped drivetrains and both of you could've had what you wanted.

How's the rust anywhere else on the body ? Have you seen under carpet/floor boards/ etc ?

I've never had the carpets out. There's no rust along the bottom of the whole car like a lot of them have this age, I guess I'm using that as a gauge as far as the overall rusty-ness.

No problem. Let's narrow the timeframe down a bit. PM'd with my contact info.

Probably broken @ the end, where it goes into the speedo gear @ the tranny. Same thing happened on my silver '85. Not too hard a swap. I do recommend pulling the dash, though. Makes it easier to run the cable. Probably could pilfer the cable off the 242, then just put a M46 cable in when you have that car ready to hit the road.

So true. But it wouldn't be the first car I regret selling.

That makes sense, I bought this years ago, and I remember the PO saying he searched for a long time and finally found this in Washington, some old couple. I thought he said Seattle but who knows.

If I can get this car cleaned up in time, it will be at the IPD Garage Sale. It needs to be driven and taken care of like I usded to do for it.
