Anyone have the time to do a line by line comparison of the most popular EMS systems (including MS)?

Processing speed
resolution
pid control loops
highest recorded hp
etc...

Then some facts can be compared and contrasted and a real discussion can be brought to bear on the info.

Kyle, your s***ty car has never made as much power as any of my broken-ass 242s, so STFU.

I'm tired of all the talk. How many guys on the board other than me have gone through 5 different wiring harnesses trying out different ideas, or built a entire harness from scratch with factory connectors, and ZERO soldering.

I'm getting out of this forum s***. My time is going to my toys.

Yeah... I'll come get them tomorrow. I have a bunch of stuff off the 122 that needs to go in for stripping and powder coating, and my price is cheaper the more crap I give them... so I'm going to dump a bunch of parts off to them next week.

Brian, PM me your address again.

I said power. Torque more specifically. Your car runs a faster 1/4 mile. My facts were straight.

All I really wanted to point out was that my car's still faster than yours and I don't even have an EMS(or turbo).

Yes, you better be making more torque than me, and you likely should be making more power. But, until you actually make your car go fast and have some experience, stop talking like you know anything.

Nope, we're just waiting for you to fill in the blanks because you know it all already.

Wow. This got out of hand fairly quickly.

Brian - you realize that the point of this thread was to get you to stay out of other peoples' build threads talking s***, right? You have a mountain of opinions about MS, and seem to lambast everyone who decides to use it. I wanted to know, specifically, what your problems with that particular aftermarket EMS solution were, and back your claims up with some facts. Instead of stating the facts, you got angry and threw up your hands, spouted obscenities and stomped off like a little kid.

After all that, what are we supposed to think? You've got some good ideas, and have built a fairly nice 242, but man - to each his own. We don't deride you for your choices with your car, don't deride us for ours.

Nice, Pat

What are you guys running on the race car?

My orange 245 is 10.8:1 (class limited) on stock LH 2.0 and I use regular old premium pump gas
The chump car is around 12.0:1 on LH 2.2 and running e85
Jonathan's ITB 242 is 10.8:1 (class limited) and running MS and e85

We are changing classes this year though and the compression ratios will rise. The chump car was kind of a test motor for this.

wow...this thread depresses me.

Thoughts. I've have personally installed and tuned. Electromotive, Haltech, Wolf, MS, and Pectel.

What do race teams use who get paid to do this.

Pectel $8k
Bosch Motorsport $15k for the controller alone
Motec $4-8k

Those are the ones I have seen and talked to tech's about.

Most race teams spend more on aircraft connectors and crimp connectors than most of us spend on our EMS systems.

So for those who wanna go out back and unzip their pants and keep asking who is bigger....it's silly.
I've made more power on K-jet then most. 220hp and 260 torque.

ANYTHING in capable hands can make power. ever seen draw through carbs on turbo's? How rudimentary can we get. I've seen 300+ on a volvo that way.

Anyone who know's me know that I'm not a huge fan of MS....but it has done some impressive things and the new 3.57 board I have hear that was produced at a board factory and wasnt soldered together is someone's garage is pretty impressive.

Wolf is a great system for the price. I'm convinced because of its features and onboard wideband system that for the $1300-1600 depending on currency its the best deal for the average user.

*****Errors in this thread****
Peter L's race car runs SDS not Haltech

Oops... my bad.

Yeah, this thread shows me how immature some people can be. Maybe we won't have to deal with that anymore...
